Star Ocean - First Departure / Will other Macross F characters show up too?
Posted by: Cokematic in PSPSo last week I got something in the mail, Star Ocean - First Departure for the PSP.
Now in the intro of the game, there was this spaceship commanded by an unnamed captain:

Captain Wilder of Macross Frontier fame
They must of been separated at birth or something. I wonder If I’m the only one who thinks they look similar? And ohbytheway, finding a good screenshot of Wilder was a lot tougher than I thought it would be.
I’m glad they kept the Japanese version of the OP, 「Heart」by あすなろ (youtube at the bottom of the post).

Unfortunately I’m not that far in. I restarted the game after I beat the first boss since I accidentally added Cyuss to my party T_T

Hmm…. why does the commander remind me of a little something called Xenogears instead… and what? You have the original? Damn.
You know, I love Star Ocean. I just can’t get past the part where I get enough skills, and I keep on buying those composer’s pens or something (you know, at the village where it’s always autumn) and so I keep on grinding and grinding to get more money, skills and stuff and so I completely neglected to advance in the game.
Do we have a mutual interest in RPGs?
Also, I have a torrent somewhere that will eventually give me Eiyuu Densetsu 1-3. I already have VI FC for PC (a pacifier when I couldn’t find Ever17 in Taiwan), but this is in English, so it should be easier to play through.
I started the series in the opposite direction; Finished 3, quit 2 and am now playing the 1st. Wish they retained the original Japanese voices though.
@ ritchan - Actually, I had the official firmware on my PSP until 2 days ago. Shin helped by pointing me in the right direction, and I installed the new M33 5.0 on Saturday
@ ritchan & Shin - Eiyuu Desnsetsu is on my “To Play” but.. it’s in a very very long line. And I still need a PS2 so a can drown myself in RPGS :(
