March 28th : I couldn’t type anything while playing CIV 4. Restarted laptop and everything was ok.

March 29th : No problems

March 30th : Strange… some key is stuck, preventing me from typing… after some keymashing I find that it’s my Ctrlkey. I checked my windows settings but sticky keys were off. Restarting the laptop would solve the problem for a bit. This occurred 6 times, mostly while I was working on my FAP assignment >.>

March 31st : Ctrl key is stuck again… this time restarting the laptop didn’t work. Upon restarting I would get an error about how a key was being pressed or stuck or something. After like 5 restarts it finally boots up. Windows boots up and I noticed the ctrl key was stuck right away. So then I took the Ctrl keys off the keyboard hoping it would fix them problem, no luck there. Then I disconnected the keyboard from the motherboard. Ditto. At wits end, I was about to go call Dell and see if they could send me a replacement keyboard. But I wasn’t sure if it was a hardware problem since it didn’t look like the key was stuck… everything looked like it was in working order. To prove it was hardware… I dug up this :

I started to pick it up… and noticed it was connected to my Usb hub…… which was connected to the laptop (since I was backing up some stuff on Sunday). Oh hey… what key is that on the bottom?

Time spent wasted : 2hrs 27 mins
Lesson learned : I am stupid bad keyboard IMO D=

What I still don’t understand is why restarting the computer fixed the problem on the 30th?
