(Sorry for the lack of screen shots, SS-Ayu decided to encode in mp4 so BS player can’t play it. And printscreen + Media Player Classic fails horribly.)
Maybe it’s the fact that Zero no Tsukaima and Shakugan no Shana were both produced by JC Staff, or the fact that Louise and Shana are both voiced by Rei Kugimiya and Saito and Yuuji are voiced by Satoshi Hino, but I found myself comparing ZnT to Shana wayyy too nuch … so much that it had become a huge distraction while watching. I swear, sometimes I half expected Louise to burst out yelling “URUSAI! URUSAI! URUSAI!” ~_~;;
URUCHAI! URUCHAI! URUCHAI! URUCHAI!
BAKA! BAKA! BAKA! BAKA! BAKA! BAKA!

Although I may find both of the shows mentioned above boring and lacking in action, for some odd reason I can’t seem to tear myself away from them because … well I don’t really know why to be honest! Maybe because Shana has Shanatan parodies; it made sitting though season 1 worth it. Zero no Tsukaima was not very memorable for me, nothing really stood out. The villains were lackluster and kinda stupid (LIKE OMG I CANT TELL WHO IT IS BEHIND THE MASK LOL).
Oh and did I mention Shana-tan parodies > all?
The only thing that Zero no Tsukaima has going for it is the fat that the male lead is not a spineless wimp with a brick for a brain *cough* Yuuji *cough*
Zero no Tsukaima:![]()
Here’s 5 Coke Zeros out of 10 for being a half-decent show; boring yet still somewhat entertaining. Lets hope the second season is better =/
On a happier note, I’m glad the “I’m an angry-jealous-loli” v.s. “Brick-for-a-brain” arc of Shana II has ended.
I feel your pain Keisaku
