In search of a decent slice-of-life comedy I came across one about 3 sisters called Kinami-Ke. Unlike Lucky Star, it doesn’t need references to anime, manga nor bi-polar girls to be funny.
The three sisters:
Haruka
The oldest of the three Minami sisters, she’s ‘mother figure’ of the three. Because she’s actually still in highschool sometimes her guidance (or lack-there-of) is not the best.
Kana
The middle sister, she’s hyper and slightly very strange. She also lacks common sense. Reminds me of Osaka from Azu.
Chiaki
The youngest and smartest of the three sisters. She can be pretty oblivious sometimes though. Kinda like Chiyo from Azu! Oh did I mention shes also the most violent?
There is definitely many good points about this show:
- + Anything that reminds me so much of Azumanga can’t be bad.
- + However, alot of people didn’t like Azu for it’s randomness and slowness sometimes. This hasn’t been a problem inthe first episode.
- + Animation and art is pretty good. I love the triangle mouths they use so much! =<
- + If you pay close attention, the “camera angle” (or the angle which the anime was drawn in) is pretty unique sometimes. They get really creative, like during the scene where Kana was chasing Chiyaki the “camera” would shake as they ran by.
She runs like a ninja!
