So I’ve been busy with work this week and I haven’t really had much free time other than to come home to sleep. As a result I’m behind in everything I’m watching… luckily a new anime season means I’m not behind if I didn’t watch it in the first place! Of course when I have more free time in a few weeks I’ll probably pick up more shows to watch. Currently I’m still watching (number of episodes to catch up on):

  • Anime
    • Hayate no Gotaku! (0)
    • Shakugan no Shana II (1)
    • Clannad (1)
    • Lovely Complex (1)
    • EF - A tale of memories (0)
    • Bokurano (1)
    • Naruto (0)
    • Kimkiss Pure Rogue (1)
    • Potemayo (6)
  • TV
    • CSI (Las Vegas) Season 8 (2)
    • Heroes Season 2 (2)
    • Weeds (err all of season 2 and the 2-3 eps in season 3 so far)

As you can see… I’m quite behind. And I don’t think I’ll be caching up in the near future =( My lack of free time is taking a toll and when I say lack of free time, it is:

Free time = total time - time @ work - time sleeping - time spent studying - time spent cleaning/shower/other misc stuff you need to do = 0

Well I do exaggerate a bit seeing how I did have enough time to write this… but my weekends are dedicated to studying since during weekdays I’m just soooo tired after work (Its usually 1am or so when I get home anyways). I do use those precious few hours/minutes of free time either watching some anime (thus why I’m actually not that behind unless you count TV shows.. XD) or programming. Yes.. programming. I actually enjoy it and find it quite stress relieving… >.>

Speaking of free time… I can’t beilieve I wasted 20 minutes of my precious free time watching Dragonaut! If anyone ever watched/read Gravitation thinking it was a space anime… you’ll know what I mean when I say DRAGNAUT IS NOT A SPACE ANIME >.< I’ll make a more specific post about it later *shivers*

I can easily say that I was not a big fan of KyoAni/Key’s 2 previous game-turned-anime attempts. It really annoyed me how their mouths were always so close to their noses! Yet I had to see what all the hype surrounding Clannad was about (that and I needed a rebound anime after Gurren Lagann).

Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann!

When I first started watching Gurren Lagann I never expected that I would be so into it! I didn’t even start watching until after episode 6 aired. That being said… this has to be one of my favourites this year. Maybe I just have a thing for GAINAX mecha shows… I mean look at FLCL. I loved it. Mahoromatic (well its not really mecha… )? Not bad. Evangelion? Yes I quite enjoyed that too (although I watched it in Cantonese, so I sat there for 20 minutes doing nothing but being bored during the last episode since I can’t read Chinese).

So what makes Gurren Lagann such a good series? Why did I come home every Monday night, throw off my shoes and check forthe latest Gurren Lagann release? Why was I totally hyped?
